Hey, Champions! We are one step closer to deciding the final Community Skin Contest skins. In the concept submission round, it’s up to you to submit epic concepts for each of the Champions you chose from the bracket round! Those lucky Champs are:
Submissions will be accepted beginning as of the posting of this announcement. The submission period will close on April 30th, 2019 at 6:00 PM Eastern Time, so get to drawing! Please note you must be at least 18 years of age, or at least the minimum age of majority in your country of residence if such minimum age is not 18, in order to participate in the Community Skin Contest. You may submit as many concepts as you like during the submission period. We’ll be choosing up to five of the best concepts for each Champion as finalists.
Below the divider, I’ve given you an in-depth breakdown going through our selection process and the requirements each concept will need to meet. Following selection, voting will open and you will be able to cast your vote for your favorite concept for each Champ.
The Evil Mojo art team will be bringing the concepts with the most votes to life, and you’ll be able to follow along from home with blog posts keeping you updated at each stage of creation!
The winning concept creators will each receive 8000 crystals after winners are announced, as well as 50 codes for their concept’s final skin to give away when the patch goes live.
Please be sure to read the full contest rules and details available here!
What are you waiting for? Submit your concept today right here!
Entries which advance to the voting phase will be selected based on originality, technical feasibility, player appeal, overall theme, and quality. Please also note the following reminders on contest rules:
The skin also must be technically possible from an art standpoint. Thunderbrush and EvilMojoSadia, our art director and producer, have collected some guidelines you may not have thought about for some of the selected Champions to keep in mind when you are creating your concepts. As a general rule of thumb, please make sure your concept ‘sits’ closely on top of the Champion and does not have any additional moving parts. As cool as they could be, concepts with additional limbs or an excessive number of particles will not work.
We’ve also attached templates that our in-house concept artists use when designing a skin for the first time. You are free to use these templates yourself when designing your skin, but it is not a requirement.
Last thing we want to mention: while submitted artwork will strongly influence the final skin design, it may not be exactly the same. Skins must be re-concepted and designed internally to make sure their design fits all the requirements for each Champion and fits with the art style of Paladins. You’ll be able to follow along with blogs updating you as the skin progresses through our dev pipeline!
